Initially established in 1979 as a College of Arts and Science, its aim was to provide preparatory courses for the General Certificate in Education (GCE) at both ordinary and advanced levels. 

By 1980, it had evolved into the College of Arts, Science, and Technology, offering higher certificates and attracting a large number of students. Its formal recognition as the Anambra State Polytechnic, Oko, came in 1984, and by 1993, it gained national recognition when the Federal Government took it over, renaming it Federal Polytechnic, Oko.

Federal Polytechnic Oko Admissions and Entry Requirements

Admission to Federal Polytechnic Oko is competitive, with entry requirements ensuring candidates are well-prepared for their chosen programs. For National Diploma (ND) programs, applicants must possess at least five credits in O’level exams, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings.
