List of Schools That Accept Third Choice Candidates 2024 – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is a major criterion for Nigerian students looking to secure admission to a higher institution.

During JAMB registration, candidates are required to choose four preferred institutions. Herein lies the problem – Most schools want to be placed as first-choice institutions before they will consider a candidate for admission.

This causes many students to question whether their third-choice institutions are even relevant options. In this article, we will be sharing a list of schools that accept third choice candidates for admission from the 2023 JAMB UTME.

Can I Gain Admission With Third Choice in Jamb?

The short answer is No, you cannot gain admission into a Nigerian higher institution with that institution as your third choice in JAMB. However, if you meet the JAMB requirements for this institution, complete their Post UTME exercise (If they have one), and change them to your first choice of institution on the JAMB portal, then you will be considered for admission.

JAMB allows candidates to change their preferred choice of institution after completion of the JAMB UTME exercise. This makes gaining admission with a third choice in JAMB a possibility.

Yes, you can certainly choose a Polytechnic as your third choice of Institution in JAMB. However, before you will be considered for Admission you must first of all change said polytechnic to your first choice on the JAMB portal.

What is the 4th choice for JAMB?

The fourth (4th) choice for JAMB can be a College of Education or an Innovative Enterprise Institution (IEI).

Can I  change my third choice of institution to first choice of institution in JAMB?

Yes, JAMB allows for a change of Institution after the UTME exercise. You can change the Institution you listed as your third choice to your first choice of institution. You simply need to access the JAMB Portal to do this

Does Kwara Poly accept third choice?

Kwara State Polytechnic will accept candidates who selected the institution as their second and third choice if they change Kwara Poly to their first choice before registering for the Kwara State Polytechnic Post UTME screening exercise.
