Initially set up in the Anglican Grammar School compound in Ilaro, Ogun State, it served as a temporary campus until 1983. Afterward, the polytechnic moved to its expansive permanent grounds, spanning 898.116 hectares along the Ilaro/Oja-Odan Road, making it easily accessible and well-positioned for expansion.

Ilaro, a historical town located strategically between Lagos and Abeokuta, provides multiple access routes to the polytechnic, enhancing its connectivity.
