Glorious Vision University, known as GVU, originated from the Apostolic Church of Nigeria, specifically the LAWNA Territory. It was initially named in honor of Pastor Samuel Adegboyega, a respected figure in the church’s history. The National Universities Commission granted the university its license on March 7, 2011. GVU has campuses in Edo and Lagos.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements
For those aspiring to gain admission to Glorious Vision University, here are the different entry pathways and their requirements:
UTME Entry
- Applicants should complete the online Application Form on Glorious Vision University’s Admission Portal.
- All applicants must meet the Departmental minimum entry requirement of five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, at GCE O’ Level/SSCE, NECO, NABTEB, or their equivalents, in not more than two sittings.
- Candidates awaiting results in the subjects mentioned above may also apply.
- All applicants will go through the Glorious Vision University Screening Exercise.
- Candidates who wrote the 2024 UTME but didn’t choose Glorious Vision University as their First/Second Choice can apply by changing their choice of University/Course of Study. This involves applying for a Change of Institution through JAMB and completing the Glorious Vision University Online Application Form.
Direct Entry
Glorious Vision University accepts the following for Direct Entry Admission into 200 Level:
- A minimum of Merit pass in NCE, JUBEP, Credit in OND/HND, or a University degree in a relevant discipline.
- Meeting the Departmental minimum entry requirement of five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, at GCE O’ Level/SSCE, NECO, NABTEB, or their equivalents, in not more than two sittings.
- Qualifications such as the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB), Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB), or A’ Level from a moderated School of Basic Studies at acceptable grade levels.
In addition to the above, applicants must also satisfy the O’ level requirements.
Any other qualification approved by the Glorious Vision University Senate.
Conversion Entry:
Applicants seeking admission through conversion entry must purchase an application code and follow these steps:
- Meet the Departmental minimum entry requirement of five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, at GCE O’ Level/SSCE, NECO, NABTEB, or their equivalents, in not more than two sittings.
- Be ready to provide the CURRENT university transcript.
Transfer Entry:
Applicants can transfer from other NUC accredited Universities to Glorious Vision University, provided they meet these conditions:
- Purchase an application code and complete the prescribed Glorious Vision University Inter-University Transfer application Form online.
- Pass an interview/Screening conducted by Glorious Vision University.
- Hold the minimum entry requirements for admission into Glorious Vision University.
- Hold a JAMB admission letter to their current University.
- Ensure that the transcript of their academic records is received in the Admissions Office of Glorious Vision University.
- Have a C.G.P.A. of not less than 1.5.
