About Texas Lutheran University

Founded in Brenham on the 15th of October 1891, TLU’s roots could be traced back to the Abiding Presence Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas. It was then the congregation of the church led by Rev. Gottlieb Langner recognized the need to establish a center for higher education with a strong Lutheran tradition in Texas, hence the establishment of the Texas Lutheran College.

First Year Applicants
