The NDDC, also known as the Niger Delta Development Commission, invites eligible Nigerians to apply for the 2024 Foreign/Local Postgraduate NDDC Scholarship. You must submit your application by November 8, 2023.
NDDC is offering a scholarship program to support our youth. It aims to provide them with valuable training and skills. These skills will help them actively participate in the Federal Government’s local content program. Additionally, this program enables students to specialize in their chosen fields of study. This specialization allows them to compete globally in their respective professional areas.
This scholarship program welcomes qualified applicants who hold Bachelor’s Degrees from recognized universities in specific fields.
For the foreign scholarship, the funding amount will be determined according to the current exchange rate of the Naira.

NDDC Postgraduate Scholarship Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship:
1. Applicants must be from the Niger Delta region.
2. They should have achieved five Credits in their academic qualifications, with no more than two sittings.
3. Students must have earned a First Class Degree or a Second Class Upper Division to qualify for the scholarship.
NDDC Postgraduate Scholarship Selection Process
Here’s the application process and selection criteria in a simplified form:
1. Apply online through the Commission’s website.
2. Shortlist candidates based on:
– Undergraduate degree (First Class/Second Class Upper)
– Local Government Identification
– Computer-Based Test conducted in each Niger Delta State to assess proficiency in English, Mathematics, and General Paper.
3. Candidates must score a minimum of 70% in the test.
4. Shortlist successful candidates.
5. Conduct final verification through Local Government Areas and Community Development Committees.
How to Apply for the NDDC Scholarship
To apply for the scholarship, follow these steps:
1. Go to the Commission’s website (www.nddc.gov.ng) and complete the online application for free.
2. Attach the following documents:
– A recent passport photograph
– Local Government Identification letter
– Postgraduate admission letter from a recognized Overseas/Nigerian University
– Relevant degrees from recognized universities
3. After successfully completing the application, you will receive an automatic registration number.
4. Print a hard copy of the online-generated acknowledgment for your reference.
5. Keep an eye on the NDDC website (www.nddc.gov.ng), where the list of shortlisted applicants will be posted.
6. Shortlisted candidates will participate in a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
Important Notes:
1. The NDDC will only communicate with candidates who have been shortlisted for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) or invited for an oral interview. Unsuccessful candidates will not receive communication.
2. Candidates from Oil Producing Host/Communities/Local Government Areas will receive preference, provided they meet the approved cut-off mark.
3. The Commission will strive for an equitable distribution of scholarships across various courses within each State.
4. Requests for deferment, changing institutions, or altering courses will not be entertained.
5. The Commission holds the exclusive authority to select candidates based on the mentioned criteria and its internal considerations. The Commission’s decision is final.
