In this briefing from the WAEC National Office, it was reported that WASSCE Results of Candidates from Eight (8) States in Nigeria, who owe the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, for not fulfilling several service/requirement which is sponsored by their government debts to the council would be seized.
In the deliberation and questioning section from journalist on this briefing, a statement in actual phrasing by the Head National Officer of WAEC, Nigeria, Mr. Patrick Areghan, “About eight states are owing WAEC, but we won’t mention them all as some are going to remit soon. Still yet, Zamfara and Niger States are the highest Debtors, as they did not present any candidate for this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination “concluded the reason for this.
Adding to this he said, “Candidates who have fulfilled their financial obligations to the council can access their results on the WAEC Result Portal.”
These states have been owing large sums of money for years and have bluntly refused to pay for the services offered by WAEC. The need to show commitment to redeeming pledges should be shown by these states, to enable the results of 262, 803 candidates uploaded and accessible.
The examination body has caused great damage due to their inability to remit payment of services and requirements as demanded.
