Since 1973, when the Nigerian federal government established PTI in Effurun, Delta State, the institute has seen significant leadership, including Henry Adimula as its Principal and CEO since June 17, 2021. The Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Effurun offers a variety of National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programs accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB). To be eligible for admission, candidates must meet specific requirements that ensure they are prepared for the rigorous academic and practical training provided by the institute.
Admission Requirements for ND & HND Programmes – PTI
General Requirements:
Candidates must be at least sixteen (16) years of age in the year of admission.
Possession of at least 5 credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics at GCE O’level, WASSCE, SSCE, NECO, NABTEB, or approved equivalents at not more than two (2) sittings.
Candidates must satisfy PTI’s departmental and faculty requirements before being admitted.
Specific Course Requirements:
For courses like Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Petroleum Engineering Technology, and others, specific subject requirements must be met.
